What is Copywork? Why Should We Do It?

Copywork teaches the mechanics of writing

Copywork teaches children good habits in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and literary devices naturally through the act of handwriting passages written by skilled authors. Our Mechanics & Literature programs select passages from high-quality, age-appropriate literature. We draw attention to various uses of grammar and literary devices the author has chosen and guide parents in how to convey those lessons to their children. Copywork also expands a child's command of language through gentle, repeated exposure to excellent writing.
